Course overview

Coaching and Developing Employees

Learn to identify development needs, choose useful support, and help employees apply new skills at work. Practice asking questions that reveal reasoning, designing manageable learning opportunities, and reviewing progress. Use evidence from employees’ work to decide when to explain, provide further practice, or reduce support.

Helping employees develop and apply new skills

Designed for new and aspiring managers, this course follows Nathan as he helps Daniel learn to facilitate planning discussions. Research-informed teaching, four brief videos, and interactive scenarios examine coaching conversations, practice opportunities, and the manager’s responsibility for providing time and support. You’ll receive explanatory feedback on your decisions and create a development plan with clear goals, practical learning activities, and evidence for reviewing progress.
